The Ø2.0 mm Decortication Bur for GBR is designed for creating cortical perforations, also referred to as bleeding points, during guided bone regeneration and bone grafting procedures.
With a Ø2.0 mm working diameter, it creates a larger cortical opening than smaller Ø1.2 mm or Ø1.4 mm perforation burs, providing an alternative option when a broader localized perforation is preferred during recipient site preparation.
The triangular working tip is available in two edge configurations: Sharp Edge and Rounded Edge, allowing clinicians to choose between two different tip geometries while keeping the same Ø2.0 mm diameter and 35 mm overall length.

Features

  • Ø2.0 mm working diameter
  • Designed for cortical perforation and decortication during GBR
  • Creates a larger cortical opening than Ø1.2 mm and Ø1.4 mm perforation burs
  • Triangular working-tip design
  • Available in Sharp Edge and Rounded Edge versions
  • 35 mm overall length
  • Suitable for bone grafting recipient site preparation
  • Two tip geometries for different working preferences

Why Choose the Ø2.0 mm Diameter?

The Ø2.0 mm diameter provides a larger working opening than smaller cortical perforation burs.
Compared with Ø1.2 mm and Ø1.4 mm options, the Ø2.0 mm version offers:
  • A larger individual cortical perforation
  • A broader localized working area
  • A larger working head for recipient site preparation
The Ø2.0 mm size is not intended to replace smaller perforation burs, but to provide an additional perforation size for different defect areas and surgical preferences.

Sharp Edge vs. Rounded Edge

Both versions have the same Ø2.0 mm diameter and 35 mm overall length. The difference is in the geometry of the triangular working tip.
Sharp Edge
Features a more defined, angular edge profile at the triangular working tip.
Rounded Edge
Features a more rounded transition along the triangular edge profile.
The two versions provide different working-tip geometries, allowing clinicians to select the configuration that best suits their preferred technique.

Applications

Suitable for dental bone augmentation procedures involving:
  1. Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR)
  2. Bone grafting recipient site preparation
  3. Cortical perforation
  4. Decortication
  5. Creation of localized cortical perforation points
