The Dental Lindemann Side-Cutting Drill is designed for lateral osteotomy adjustment, implant site redirection and localized bone contouring during implant site preparation.

Unlike conventional implant drills that primarily cut in an axial direction, this drill features multiple cutting flutes along its sides. This allows clinicians to selectively remove bone from the lateral wall of a prepared osteotomy when its position, direction or contour requires adjustment.

The tapered Ø1.7–2.6 mm profile facilitates progressive entry into an existing pilot osteotomy, while the cutting structure supports both forward and lateral bone cutting.

Key Features

  • Lateral Osteotomy Adjustment
Side-cutting flutes allow controlled modification of the lateral wall of an existing implant osteotomy.
  • Implant Site Redirection
Designed to assist with correcting or adjusting the direction of a previously prepared pilot osteotomy.
  • Ø1.7–2.6 mm Tapered Profile
The drill gradually increases in diameter from the tip, supporting progressive entry and controlled enlargement.
  • Forward and Side Cutting
Cutting structures on the tip and sides support axial entry, lateral bone removal and localized contour adjustment.
  • Multiple Cutting Flutes
Cutting edges are distributed along the working section to provide multiple points of contact with the bone wall.
  • Clearly Marked Size
The size range is engraved on the drill body for quick identification.

Applications

  1. Lateral adjustment of a prepared implant osteotomy
  2. Correction or redirection of a pilot osteotomy
  3. Localized cortical bone cutting
  4. Implant site contouring and enlargement
  5. Adjustment of implant positioning during site preparation
  6. Immediate implant site preparation where clinically indicated
